SUMMARY:Lavender Teatime presents: "Thirsty Sword Lesbians" TTRPG Gameplay! (Registration required)
DESCRIPTION:“Thirsty Sword Lesbians” is a narrative-focused TTRPG (table-top role-playing game) about creating and telling melodramatic queer stories. The game features and celebrates queer love and storytelling through platonic flirtation and adventuring. If you love angsty disaster lesbians with swords\, you have come to the right place! \nNo prior experience with TTRPG’s is necessary to play. The game will be lead by Outlink practicum student Jesse! \nThis game will take place over two afternoons: \nSession #1: Character-Building\nSaturday\, March 14th from 1-3pm\nCommunityWise Resource Centre (#200 – 2710 17 Ave SE) \nSession #2: Gameplay \nSaturday\, April 11th from 1-4pm\nThe Rainbow Room (#400 – 750 11 St SW)\nThere are 4-6 spots available in this gameplay.  \nAs this is a smaller gameplay\, this event requires registration beforehand. Registering for this event means that you will be attending both sessions. Registrants will receive a confirmation email closer to the date of the event.\n\nRegistration link: https://forms.gle/pp2fecyuZoBJs3pd9 \nPlease note that this event will be held at the new CommunityWise Resource Centre at the Deerfoot 17 building (2nd Floor – 2710 17 Ave SE). When you arrive\, please take the elevator to the second floor\, and there will be a door propped open on the second floor for you to go through. Please follow the signs! \nWe are excited to welcome you to our new office for the second session in The Rainbow Room\, a hub of queer-serving organizations. More info about this location will be provided soon. \nDue to the nature of these sessions\, we will need to start on time. We ask registrants to please arrive as close to 1pm as possible.  \n\nThis event is part of our newly implemented Lavender Teatime structure where we host a monthly special event in addition to our two other regular monthly meetings! \nLavender Teatime is a community group for those whose identities are informed and understood in relation to experiences of queer womanhood\, including trans\, non binary\, and cis folks as they feel comfortable in this space. Read more here.  \nPlease note that this group is mostly attended by and is a space intended for adults. Older youth are welcome to attend if they feel comfortable\, however we do offer youth-specific programming as well. \nThis meetup is intended as a space for casual connection. This is not a structured therapy group nor is it a dating space. Please be aware that there is a lip at the bottom of the ramp\, so it’s not quite flush with the ground. There is an elevator in the building. Washrooms in The Rainbow Room are all-gender and wheelchair-accessible. \nWearing a mask is encouraged and welcome in all of our spaces. If you have any cold\, flu\, or Covid symptoms (cough\, runny nose\, fever\, sore throat\, etc)\, we ask that you please do not attend. \nPlease refrain from wearing strongly scented fragrances\, as some folks may have sensitivities. \nGetting There: \nCommunityWise Resource Centre \nThere are visitor and customer parking stalls onsite. There is street parking in the area as well (please be mindful of the parking permit signs!). \nThe nearest LRT Station is Barlow/ Max Bell. The Max Purple Bus stop is located at nearby at 26 St SE and International Avenue. Other buses are nearby in the area as well. \nThe Rainbow Room \nPaid and free street parking is available in the area. The nearest LRT Stations are Downtown-West Kerby (blue line) and 8th Street (red line). SUMMARY:Inside Out (Youth 13-18\, in-person) - Make Your Own Card Deck!
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to a new year of our Inside Out youth programming at Calgary Outlink! Our group will now be meeting on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at from 6-8pm! \nOur youth programming is for 2SLGBTQ+ youth ages 13-18 along with their friends\, families\, and supporters. We aim to create fun\, affirming\, and friendly spaces for queer and trans youth! This is a drop-in group\, so no registration is required. \nThe meetings on 2nd Tuesdays are an Arts & Crafts Club\, where we’ll be doing different crafts together each month! \nDo you like playing or trading cards and have always wanted to customize your own decks? Maybe you’ve been wanting to make your own tarot cards? Design or decorate your own card deck to play games\, trade\, read tarot\, or anything you want! We’ll provide cards\, paper\, and art supplies\, but you’re welcome to bring your own cards or supplies if you wish. We’ll have other arts and crafts supplies as well if you feel like doing something else!  \nThis meetup is intended as a fun and welcoming space for friendly connection and to meet fellow 2SLGBTQ+ and allied youth! If you are looking for further support\, Outlink staff are available to meet with you one-on-one or in small groups by phone\, text based messaging\, or video call upon request. They can also help connect you to other counselling and support services. \nThe group is run by volunteer group facilitators who have received 30+ hours of peer support training. \nWe ask all participants to follow our Safer Spaces Ground Rules when attending group or accessing any of our services.
